Training for Provincial Engineers — Small-Scale Coastal Protection Works

UNCDF, LoCAL Facility | 2025–2026

Under the Local Climate Adaptive Living (LoCAL) Facility, Intercoastal is guiding Solomon Islands Provincial and MPGIS engineers in the design of small-scale coastal protection projects. The program introduces provincial engineers to climate risks in coastal areas and builds their understanding of key concepts — and their capacity to apply that knowledge to plan, design and implement coastal protection projects in their own provinces.

It's capacity building with a multiplier effect: skills transferred today become locally led coastal resilience for decades to come.
